What is eLearning
(E)lectronic learning is a way of studying using the internet through your computer. You can use it do develope your professional and personal skills.
Who is it for and what are the benefits?
It is for everyone in the organisation, irrespective of length of service or position.

What courses are available?
The Charity Learning Consortium have a variety of courses available including IT Skills, Soft Skills, management and leadership video lessons and our new rapid eLearning authoring tool. Read the full details of available courses here.
What do I do if I only have a small amount of time?
eLearning is a flexible way of learning therefore you can dip in and out of the programme when it is convenient for you.
The following FAQs relate to the standard inclusive courses from the Impetus plus and Management Milestones - Essentials portfolio.
Do I have to do the whole course?
No. You can select a specific module and do as much or as little as you want.
How can I stop others disturbing me whilst using an e-learning programme?
- Put up a 'Do Not Disturb' sign - but not too big!
- Go to a dedicated learning area
- You could study from home
- Agree a time with your line manager
Can I stop and start a programme if I get disturbed?
Yes. You can bookmark the page when you exit. When you return to the programme it will ask you if you want to return to that point in the programme.
How long will it take to complete a course?
- As a general guide, module times for soft skills courses vary but last an hour on average
- IT courses vary from four to eight hours - but remember you can do it in bite-size chunks
- The courses are self-paced - you decide how long it will take to complete a course!
