Improving the impact of learning technologies in the third sector
Towards Maturity and the Charity Learning Consortium have teamed up to offer third sector organisations the chance to benchmark their use of e-learning in order to improve results.
The importance of skills in Third Sector organisations, together with their need to improve efficiency in the current economic climate has meant that a significant number of charities, not for profit and voluntary organisations are turning to learning technology to help deliver more skills but with less resources.
Towards Maturity has conducted comprehensive benchmark reviews with 700 organisations over the past 5 years to uncover effective e-learning practice that delivers results to both organisations and individuals. The benchmark has been widely used by private and public sector and has proven critical for organisations looking at learning technology to help them deliver more for less in this economic climate.
Towards Maturity in partnership with CLC have now adapted this benchmark review for the Third Sector and are inviting third sector organisations who are implementing e-learning to take part. The review will provide a free opportunity for organisations to review their progress and compare their own e-learning implementation strategies with others from both within the Third Sector and beyond.
As a result of completing this survey participants will receive a personalised report that:
> compares their own activity against these proven benchmarks
> highlights strengths and weaknesses
> directs them to examples of great practice and free resources to help you on your way.
Organisations will also receive a copy of the full research when it is launched in January at Learning Technologies (27 th & 28 th January 2010).
How to take part
The opportunity to participate is free for any individuals within Third Sector Organisations who are responsible for implementing learning technologies. Participants can access the survey online here and each participant will receive a personalised benchmark report highlighting their strengths and weaknesses together with free independent advice to help them improve the impact of learning technologies in their organisation.
!!A HEALTH WARNING!! -Taking part in the TM benchmark will help you seriously improve your organisation’s take up and impact of learning technologies. However we do recommend that you grab a coffee, shut the door and set aside 30 – 40 minutes to get the most from this review.
The survey will be open through to the 27th of November and the full results will be launched at Learning Technologies 2010.

· I have just completed the Towards Maturity 2008 Benchmark review and found the process of taking part really useful.
